NAVTEQ® Map Selected by Galigeo to Power Geospatial Business Intelligence
Veldhoven – March 29, 2012 – Nokia today announced that its Location & Commerce unit has agreed to supply European and North American NAVTEQ Map data to Galigeo to enable its Location Intelligence solutions to support better analytics-based decision-making. The combination of Geographic Information Systems with Business Intelligence introduces the ‘Where’ factor and supports map-based visualisation of analytics which can reveal spatial relationships, dependencies and trends which are otherwise difficult to uncover – in short Geospatial Business Intelligence (GeoBI).
Headquartered in Paris with offices in both Brussels and New York, Galigeo is a pioneer and specialist in this fast growing field, providing applications which enable organisations to gain critical insights, make better decisions and optimise business processes and applications.
“By integrating the NAVTEQ Map into our Location Intelligence applications, we can develop total solutions and offer customers accurate, high quality data. The addition of the geocoding and reverse geocoding functions available with the NAVTEQ Map also supports flexible data input and output. Overall, this will significantly improve GeoBI analysis and facilitate the decision-making process” explained Galigeo CEO, Christian Tapia-Stocker.
GeoBI supports optimisation in many areas including data visualization and reporting; geomarketing and trade area analysis; regulatory and environmental compliance; resource allocation; network infrastructure monitoring; and sales territory management. Galigeo currently focuses on developing solutions for retail, pharmaceutical, telecoms, utilities and government organisations.
“Whether an address, a sales territory, a delivery route or an administrative boundary, location is a central factor in business and GeoBI is an emerging market with huge potential,” added Peter Beaumont, Director Customer Marketing, Enterprise Europe, Nokia, Location & Commerce. “Galigeo is fast becoming an international brand leader in this new arena where standard specification data and accurate geocoding are critical to solutions which can successfully help small, medium or large organisations better understand their businesses.”
