GIS for New World Systems Users: Centralized Data Access – Enterprise Enablement

GOLDSBORO, N.C. – Twenty-five miles west of St. Louis you will find Chesterfield, Missouri.  The City is combination of several historical cities including; Bellefontaine, Lake, Gumbo, Monarch, and Bonhomme. With a population of 48,000, Chesterfield boasts the largest strip mall in America and is a major business, retail, and transportation center.  Since its founding in 1989, the City of Chesterfield has strived to provide its citizens with the highest quality services.  Information Technology is no exception to the push for excellence at the City.  Matt Haug, Information Technology Manager, has made it his mission to provide the city with solid technology that allows staff to be more productive and provide better services for the citizens.

As is the case with many cities, a multitude of computer applications and technologies were implemented as the city grew.  The city had a number of “home-grown” applications to accomplish their varied tasks.  In 2007, the city selected New World Systems Logos suite of products to streamline operations throughout the city.  The city now utilizes Logos for financial management, HR/payroll, and community development.  Mr. Haug points out that, “moving to a unified platform was important for the city.  Integration and data sharing was key.  The Logos product allows us to function as a unified organization without silos of data.”
